Deepen the breath ..... slow the body.... calm the mind ... open the heart..
Coming Summer of 2020 ... a new practice area at Pulse4Health (the next chapter of Pulse Personal Training) will be a Mindfulness Practice that will include a subscription featuring a blend of online offerings with additional in-personal live classes, a new class series, and 1x1 instruction.
The beginning phase of this will modify our free offering on Facebook Live a bit to allow some focus in the new areas as Jim returns to in studio teaching. This offering, Mindful Movement, incorporates movement and breath work from the eastern disciplines of qigong and tai chi. These practices have been shown to improve balance, reduce anxiety, and improve cognitive function. Sessions will leave you feeling relaxed and energized. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels and no previous experience is needed. Nothing to memorize, just follow along. If you can breathe, you're good to go. Beginning Monday, June 29th, we will drop to 3 sessions weekly (M/W/F) at 7:30 am. These will be shorter sessions, 15-20 minute and will be hosted on the Pulse4Health Facebook page.

Tai Chi is a form of internal martials arts derived from Qigong. It has often been described as a “dance”, incorporating the movement patterns and breathwork of Qigong into choreographed sequences. Practitioners of Qigong will recognize many of the basic movements and add footwork to them. Studies show dramatic improvements in balance and cognition by those who regularly practice Tai Chi. The basic set in this course is the Yang 10 Form.
Meditation is one of the foundational practices of mindful living. During this four week session you’ll learn and practice four different styles of meditation -- Body Scan, Walking Meditation, Soul Sync Tactile Mediation, and a breathwork practice known as the Six Healing Sounds. There are dozens of meditation styles but all are designed to help you calm the mind, open the heart, and be present to whatever is happening around you.
